Privacy Policy
Your privacy is critically important to us. At AuvlyFM, we have a few fundamental principles:
- We don't ask for your personal information.
- We don't store your music listening data on our servers permanently.
- We don't share your information with third parties except to comply with the law, protect our rights, or (as described below) to improve our service via analytics.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
AuvlyFM operates as a visualization tool for public data. When you enter a Last.fm username:
- Public Data Fetching: We use the username provided to fetch publicly available listening data (scrobbles, top artists, tracks, albums) via the Last.fm API.
- Transient Processing: This data is processed transiently by our secure edge network (powered by Cloudflare) to generate the reports you see. We do not create user profiles or permanent databases of your history.
- Temporary Caching: To improve performance and reduce load on Last.fm, API responses may be temporarily cached in our edge network for a short period (typically less than 2 hours).
2. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate and secure our website. Their use of data is governed by their respective privacy policies.
- Last.fm API: Our service relies on data provided by Last.fm. By using AuvlyFM, you acknowledge that your public Last.fm data will be retrieved. You can check Last.fm's Privacy Policy for more information.
- Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare for DNS, content delivery (CDN), and security. Cloudflare may process basic technical data (such as IP addresses) to protect the site from attacks (DDoS) and optimize delivery.
-
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website. This helps us improve the user experience, understand traffic sources, and prioritize new features.
In addition to standard page views, we collect anonymous interaction events, such as:- Which report formats (Story/Square) are generated.
- Which color themes are most popular.
- Use of comparison or calculation features.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
To facilitate the use of Google Analytics and improve site functionality, we use cookies and browser local storage.
- Google Analytics Cookies: These cookies (such as _ga and _ga_ESTEDCB9SM) are used to collect information about how visitors use our site. We use this information to compile reports and to help us improve the site. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including distinguishing unique users, session tracking, and traffic source information. These cookies do not store your Last.fm username or personal music data.
- Local Storage: We may use standard browser Local Storage to save non-sensitive user preferences on your own device (for example, remembering the last username you searched to save you time on your next visit). This data never leaves your device.
4. Your Data Choices (Opt-Out)
You have control over your data. If you wish to opt-out of Google Analytics tracking, you can do so by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This will prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics on any website you visit.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Since we do not collect or store personal data, we have nothing to sell or share. We do not sell any user data to advertisers or third parties. Anonymized, aggregated data collected by Google Analytics is used solely for the purpose of improving AuvlyFM.
6. Changes to This Policy
Although most changes are likely to be minor, AuvlyFM may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in AuvlyFM' sole discretion. We encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
7. Contact Us
